Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
Discussing my life and future with God

Tossed

by Therese Caron

I am sixty-two, not yet old, no longer young
Are all my poems written, and all my songs sung?
I kneel before God and I ask him today
What are your plans and how long will I stay?

There are days when I feel unbelievably lost
Out on the sea in a boat being tossed
No land in sight, no life jackets aboard
I close my eyes tightly and pray to Our Lord

My last fifteen years have been painful at best
I ask Him if this is some kind of a test
You won't shake my faith God, give it a try
It's proven immutable as the years have gone by

Blessed with family and friends, yet still all alone
I can send a quick text, I can pick up the phone
But instead I've been asking Our Lord each day
Have I pleased you with how I have handled my stay?
