Pete loved adventure and his thrills!
'Pete?'
'Yes, Molly?'
'I'll be ready in a few minutes...
'Thiety to be exact '
'You know a "Woman Thing!"
'Oh, thank Golly Miss Molly!'
Jokes Pete.
'Smart Ass!'
She replies.
...
The plan was to go together to the "Jackson Adventure Thrill Park" in Jackson, New Jersey.
(Pete loves coasters)
And, it's a sunny and bright early January day..
New Years 2005.
...
'Man alive it's nice today!'
States Pete.
'Molly are you dressed warm enough?'
'I can see your boobs a bit.'
He asks
'Yes lover, I'm fine beside you'll keep me warm!'
'Wow the red number again?'
'Remember the last time?'
'We had that creep following us at the carnival in Pitman?'
Warns Pete concerned.
'Yes, I know dear.'
...
They purposely arrived early enough at the park, so they can get all their share of passes...
Important!!
(Which give them the right to the front of the lines)
...
"Rolling Thunder," was one of the oldest wooden coasters in the United States.
And, Pete has been riding this since he was a kid.
...
1992
'Dad?'
'Yes Pete?'
'What's that called?'
'Well son thats, "Rolling Thunder."
'Its a rollercoaster Pete.'
States his Dad Tony.
'It looks a little creepy?'
'Don't worry son, you'll be okay as soon as we get you over the first hump!'
...
Note: Back then it was much more economical to go to the park than today.

Dad would practically take Pete and his little sister Tony there every weekend.
But even back then the coaster would make creaking noises as if the wood was still settling?
...
2005
As Pete and Molly took their seats.
(Of course the front row)
There was an eerie glow at the waterpark below?
(Splash Mountain and the Nestle's Iced Tea Plunge!)
And, the clouds started to gather overhead?
Note: Molly has never been to this park.
...
'Well are you ready Molly?'
Asks Pete.
'Ready for what?'
'My imminent death?'
She jokes.
'I think I'd rather go on the "Iced Tea Plunge."
'That looks a little more safe.'
Answers Molly.
'Molly, I am asking you are you ready for the thrill of your life?'
No answer.

The Ride starts innocently enough with the supervisor checking the lap bars, making sure everybody was snugged in properly.
There are six teenagers and people all together as Pete yells...
'Let the, "Coaster of Death" begin!'
...
Slowly, the old coaster gathers speed as it's leaving the station. Around first, "Jackson Corner' to the old, "Roots Hill Number One."
10-20-30 until they were six stories up!
'Having fun Molly?'
Wonders Pete hoping she's scared.
'Bundles!'
She replies.
...
Pete raises his arms up over his head as the coaster is about to go over there the hump.
'Molly do this!'
Yells Pete
Now scared to death, Molly instead, keeps her hands firmly attached to the seat bar.
...
Down they go at close to 90 miles an hour!
The wind in their hair, the clouds overhead, the waters below, as if they're soon-to-be-dead?
And, Pete's now screaming at the top of his lungs!
He remembers his first ride ever and was extremely scared.
(As any kid)
But not now!
...
Suddenly, as the old, wooden, coaster rounds the first curve to go up to, "Roots Hill Number Two."
A Strange and Eerie squealing noise comes from below?

Note: There are only six human beings riding since this was the first run of the day.
...
Molly yells out in fear and Pete tells her it's okay.
'I've done this about a hundred times before Molly!'
The noise intensifies at the bottom of the second Hill as they go into a series of curves.
...
The front page of the Asbury Park dated January 2nd, 2005.
"The roller coaster called, "Rolling Thunder" which is a mainstay of the Jackson Adventure Park in Jackson, New Jersey."
"Was suddenly closed since yesterday."
...
"The Ocean County Sheriff's department and the Jackson Police are investigating the two deaths of Pete Lanyard and Molly Williams, whom passed away shortly after the front car mysteriously dislodged."
"More on page five."
....
Note: "Great Adventure" which is one of the "Six Flags Parks" in Jackson, New Jersey has since shut down that ride due to its age."
"Although there was never any reported deaths on the coaster, back in 1972 the "Fun House." "During, "Halloween Fest" which was a chamber of tractor trailers."
"Caught fire inside trapping and killing two teenagers."
"The park was cited, fined, and sued for that."
