How do we weigh, from day to day,
The thoughts that are in our mind,
Do we address them one by one
Or are solutions impossible to find?

Do we follow blindly, with logic adrift,
Or stand steadfast, hoping not to fail?
Do we think for ourselves, with the gift we have,
Or wait for right to prevail?

Do we agree just to make it easy
To get by from day to day?
Are we individuals, with thoughts of our own
With ability to choose the right way?

Are we doomed to a mindless walk-through life,
Keeping our thoughts bottled up inside?
Do we show concern for the action we take,
Maintaining some molecule of pride?

Does our brain just fill a void in our head
will our views ever be sought?
Must we just follow, right or wrong?
God! What a scary thought.
