A Zimmerman Trido for Pies (with a cheat line at the end) ;)

Yes, I'll Share!

by Y. M. Roger

What is this?
Well now, it’s
Pastry’s kiss
Of sweet bliss –

Yummy pie,
Friend of mine,
Treat whereby
Taste buds cry…

But don’t fear
For those tears
Are sincere
And like cheers…

First for crust:
That gold dust
What’s been trussed
And then stuffed

With the best
Berries pressed
Or fruit zest
And top meshed…

Then there’s creams
Car’mel dream
Mint supreme
And ice cream

Flies to Shoo,
Bayou Goo,
Oatmeal’s new,
Choc’late, too!

I declare,
More’s out there!
Don’t despair
Cuz I swear...

 I will share!!

Shoofly Pie is a molasses crumb cake baked in a pie crust usually with a crumb topping. It's name is from the past when bakers would have to 'shoo' flies away from their pies cooling on their shop window sill.

Bayou Goo Pie is a pecan crust with a layer of sweet cream cheese, then vanilla custard swirled with chocolate chunks, and topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.

The Trido poetry form was developed by our very own Robert Zimmerman (Thanx, Z!!). Here is his description of the form:

(Each stanza has 4 lines of 3 syllables per line)
The minimum rhyme standard is abcb.
There can be unlimited number of stanzas.

As always, thank you for reading me!! ;) ;)
