The photo may seem an odd choice. Some people hate these destructive beetles.
Don't take a photo choice so literally. What does it represent?
I chose it because other photos would show conventional notions of love and togetherness. To me, the beetles look somewhat like shield beetles, referencing words in my poem. This photo also represents that love comes in all shapes and variations. It is not a matter of one-size-fits-all. Love is a battlefield - are they courting or fighting? Hopefully, they will make up if they are fighting.
