Silent memories are all I have...

Waiting

by Diana L Crawford

I feel your spirit move through my air;
silent memories of us flood my mind.
I see you with your pipe near the fireplace;
no greater love could I ever find.

My thoughts drift to our magical nights;
you’d always bring home my favorite flower
to place in my beloved china vase,
And kiss me with passion hour after hour.

How sweet were those days - just you and me -
until the night death stole you away.
Being torn from my lover is much too final;
The loneliness I hate I must face every day.

These tears that I cry just go on and on;
I’ve a broken heart that will never mend.
I move through this world in a hazy daze,
waiting at your grave til the time of my end.
