(tanka) an early bloomer

by LisaMay

an early bloomer
will show her frilly knickers
in flashy display –
exuberance of the young

overwhelms dull modesty

Write a Tanka writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a Tanka with the 5-7-5-7-7 format. Tankas are usually about nature and seasons, but this one can be about any subject you choose. Be nice!! Tankas are usually titled using the first line of the poem that is shown in parentheses . For ex. Tanka (Tanka Contest). Have fun!!

Author's Note:
'Bloomer' refers to flowers of course, but for another meaning, 'bloomers' were baggy underpants for women, usually made of cotton, which gathered at the waist and below at the knees. The term 'bloomer' is derived from a nineteenth-century garment worn by American women's rights activist Amelia Jenks Bloomer.
