California Rhythms

Orange sun
hovers
over the horizon
slowly sinking into the sea
Abandoned sand castles melt
into cascading blue surf
while palm trees sway and seagulls soar
Somewhere on a channel
a sailboat groans
and begs to be set free
into the soft evening breeze
