How a young boy stood against the enemy

The Giant and the Boy

by Robert Zimmerman

The Invaders came to the valley.  They were led by a giant of a man who was the enemy of the people. For forty days he defied the people to send out a charge to fight. The King and his soldiers were afraid but a boy answered the call. The young son of Jesse gathered five polished stones in his pouch and went to fight the giant. The giant laughed upon seeing the boy. The youngster killed the titan with a polished stone. He needed only one cast. Four stones remained in his pouch because the behemoth had four sons.
