Alas, what can I do
when my body says
I have a hold on you.

My brain looks down
and says think
about all the choices
that you make.

My eyes says see
all you should do.
Break the bond
that has a hold on you.

My mouth says speak.
Words hold the cure.
My ears say listen
and follow through.

My hands say
do all you can
to help and aid
your fellow man.

My feet say go
to those in need.
Release good to
your brotherhood.

The body speaks
but cannot be heard.
Depression erases
every word.

Lord release me
from the hold
that keeps me broken.
Rid my mind of this
cruel depression.
