A Cascade Poem for the Pic This Challenge

High Above the Trees

Floating high above the trees
I feel the warm October breeze
Leaving troubles far behind
as peace begins to soothe my mind

Despite my deepest fear of heights
I rise above the city lights
Surprisingly I feel at ease
floating high above the trees

The child within me starts to smile
She hasn't done that in awhile
Forgetting winter's dreaded freeze
I feel the warm October breeze

An eagle perched upon her nest
just makes me feel so very blessed
More scenic treasures let me find
leaving troubles far behind

To gaze at stars and not the ground
my life with beauty will abound
My heart and soul are now refined
as peace begins to soothe my mind
