Take a walk, if you dare.

A Living Pincushion

by Lobber

I take a walk to visit friends -
One’s in hospital . . . what a drag.
I hope he soon will make amends -
Veins collapsed . . . not just a sag.

Jabs of needles everywhere -
Some went here, some went there.
Hours pass throughout the night
In hopes that they will find a site.

From all the jabs his body’s blue.
He laughs but it is not a joke.
The nurses frown . . . not much to do.
With no spots left where they can poke!

An elder nurse - just five foot two -
Says, “Come on now, no time to linger.”
She clearly knew just what to do,
Then jabbed him up his middle finger.
