I haunted our library where Mrs. Ward
B anged down the stamp on the book cards,
R eleasing thrilling tales for my keeping.
A rmfuls of adventure and escape. Perhaps she
R ead into my voracious appetite the

Writing Prompt
Write an acrostic poem. Acrostic Poetry is where the first letter of each line spells a word, usually using the same words as in the title. See an example in the announcement.


We had no television then, only radio. I can still see that library, the inviting shelves of treasure, right there for me to enjoy. There were no book lists, or areas where I could not explore. I'll always love libraries and used book stores. Again, thanks to VMarguarite for her on-point art.
