My Rustic Wood

by Sugarray77

I dream of streams and minnow pools,
of fluffy clouds and brown toadstools.
When twilight wanders into night,
I dream of light’ning bugs in flight.

I fancy there's a soft green glade
near tall elm trees that cast a shade.
Within it is a brook that sings,
a meadowlark and fairy rings.

And then, my hungry spirit yearns
to nestle down among frail ferns,
and watch the lazy butterflies
go drifting slowly on my sighs.

So, in my dreamy reverie,
I walk beneath a mossy tree,
and wander through my rustic wood,
where all is peace, and all is good.
