Beneath the Tall Oaks

by Sugarray77

My eyes drift closed, I lightly sigh,
as rushing water flows on by.
I’ve found complete serenity,
reclined beneath the tall oak trees.

My cares were placed upon a dream,
and sent upon a leaf downstream.
No worries plague my reveries,
while lying under tall oak trees.

Sweet summer wanes and looks for rest,
upon cool autumn’s muted breast.
The cares of life just pass me by,
beneath tall oaks that touch the sky.

When solace is a burning need,
a quiet place, a book to read,
I find a place among the trees,
where tall oaks whisper to the breeze.
