Love, On The Road Again

by Reese Turner

Greetings from “the road” – a location that we love dearly!
“We are one” of forty years, we’ve known love in many ways;
We were Blessed with children from that aspect of love,
And sure love the grand-kids and big family party days.

But, beyond the products of love, the off-spring, there
Is “Love of Life” that between two lucky ones is shared,
And, of course, the love of building, restoring together,
Weathering storms, being sick, knowing the other cared.

Lest I forget, the shared love of pets who stole our hearts;
Oh, the laughs and love they brought – with expenses!
We could not have spent our money better, than on
Veterinarians, food, pills, baths and many fences.

Her hair is gray, mine is half gone and gray, and other
Parts are out of warranty.  But, love is sharing the downs.
And demanding that neither give up on life, but stay
Together: So, we bought an RV to explore new grounds!

Called our grown kids the day we bought that motor-home
To tell them how their inheritance we were spending.
They laughed at us while congratulating our ageless
Love – promising the cheapest rest home for our ending.
