A chapter in the book Remembering Dean

Dean - gone but not forgotten

by Ms. Snyder

With a simple text and word,

A life once vibrant died I heard

A heart of mine that has lots of cracks

Shatters again while my brain reacts

This great man I adored for many days

Who stayed up late and schooled me in his ways

Was a lover of all that he connected with, a brother in pain.

His knowledge of tech was like a warrior, never much to feign.

Although many among us would snarl and snipe,

I never once heard this man be harsh or gripe,

About anyone, anywhere, at anytime out of spite.

He would reason with even keel and judgment for all on reserve,

And when he found something he connected with, he showed you what you deserved.

Dean Kuch (Cook) was a man, a marine, a dad, a poet, a writer, and a delight.

That lost his battle for breath and life; his deep connection in writing the other night.

I am hurting and I know a lot of others will as well.

I will do my best to remind those that didn't know him with the stories I tell.

I will tell many when the tears and heartache are manageable.

I don't ever want this man to be less than he was - which was easily tangible.

I know that I would do anything for his horror, emojis and doggie pics again that make me grin...

So please for me and for those that loved him...

Send your love and support, to those around you,

Let them know every day how important they are!

Because these days are so few!!!

I'm so sorry it took me so long to post my thoughts and my poem.
I wrote the following which journeys through some of my pain,

When will people stop for a moment to reflect

Instead of fling their hat into a ring - I so object!

How cold you are to me and I only wanted to know...

In this time of dread, you were dreadful in my sorrow...

The earth should stand still and skip a freakin beat!!!

I'm so damned pissed right now I'm as red as meat!

A man that wove together many writers and poets,

Is gone and he needs more than 24 hours FS and you know it!!!

But more than that I am here to say.

When Dean exited - it was a very dark day.

For those of us who have had a hard time finding the light.

He was one that seemed, in the end, to find it alright...

Ya, I know you all think he dabbled in the wrong side.

But this man's character was easy to confide.

You couldn't help but feel he was on your side.

More than just upstanding I easily collided with his kindness, which he readily showed.

My heart opened up again because of it, love flowed.

So Dean my message to you now that I have had a little time.

Thank you for everything...

Your life really did touch mine!

I'm so glad I was able to connect with Chelsea to add this photo - it really was special. In it, there is Dean looking so healthy! Dean's (fur)baby girl, Gidget, then Frank E. Furter (Frankenstein) next to Dean and his beautiful daughter Chelsea who is expecting Dean's first grandchild in a few months and then his lovely Tippy who passed before Dean, in April 2018. It is a beautiful photo and I wanted to make sure - it was his favorite one - It deserves to be in this book!
