George and Mildred

by Aussie

Every morning they come to dine
Feathers flying with a fight
Pigeon flocks, balancing time
Flash of colour will blur your sight

George and Mildred in the feed
Squeaking, squawking red beaks
Pigeons, try to steal seed
George is feisty, food he seeks

In a blur of colour, scary fighter
Big pigeons fly, in lieu of biting
Mildred backs George, melee tighter
Back to seed dish, Mildred alighting

Every morning they squeak and fly
Lorikeets guard their dinners
Not a chance pigeons; still they try
Such a circus, George and Mildred winners
