Intermezzo at Sea

Sail away
She watches from shore
Alone
 
One starless night
His ship becalmed on the satin sea
Flitting off in the mist, he spies
A beguiling sea-goddess
 
She let flow her perfumed hair
Her lips pout an amorous smile
She sings to him a bewitching song
“Love with me, come with me”
Forget the shore
No one else will matter
Nevermore”
 
She beckons to her phantom ship
He climbs the lacy ladder
She lies upon the gossamer deck
Waiting for his sensual embrace
He melts within, his mind
Explodes with moon and stars
 
Sails blow full under diamond skies
Enchantment lay beside him
Till he awoke one darken morn
Her wispy veil faint on the horizon
 
He adrift on fidgid sea
Marooned, becalmed
Alone
 
Till one night by soft breeze blown
A lone voice sounds
 “Remember me,
I was once your moon and stars
Turn to shore
I will guide you home”
