A better life.

Down The Road

by Willie P. Smith

I'm not handsome,
But I don't care,
I can show my
face anywhere.

I'm not a hero
And I'm not defiant.
I'm not a small man,
Nor am I a giant.

I'm not a rich man,
But I'm not poor.
I don't have so much,
That I couldn't use more.

I'm not insensitive,
So don't put me down.
I'm not a stone face,
And I'm not a clown.

I'm just a man,
With my share of the load,
With dreams of a better life
Somewhere down the road.
