100 words. Bullying and humiliation take a toll.
Jeremy Leaves the Building
by Lance S. Loria
Jeremy wasn't popular in high school. He had few friends. He didn't participate in activities and never had a girlfriend.
Jeremy was treated rudely by the "in" crowd and frequently bullied. The social pressure was intolerable. He couldn't go to class without suffering humiliation at the hands of classmates.
Fridays meant no school for two days. However, it also meant two days of silent suffering in isolation.
In retrospect, it's not surprising that Jeremy decided he had reached his limit to undergo more emotional pain. He opened the pill bottle and swallowed the contents followed by a glass of whiskey.
