What happens when the enemies breach the wall?

Enemies at the Wall

by Robert Zimmerman

When enemies come to the wall,
     the soldiers must defend.
As fear snaps up the people’s hearts
     their courage must transcend.
As armies roll with massive force,
     the victims hearts can fail.
They can’t resist such awesome pow’r.
     The little children wail.
Catastrophe comes to the front.
     How will the men survive?
So who can guarantee their hearts?
     Who’ll keep their souls alive?
Oh help us Lord, please stop the strife
      Let not the hostiles reign.
To God we’ve pled through all the wars,
      Please keep us safe again.

This is not a poem regarding warfare in the conventional sense of armies of one country facing armies from another land. The warfare here is the societal and cultural warfare being waged in America by those trying to nudge the country away from traditional values and standards. The truism of "Newer is better" is nonsense. The values of the culture are more important than the tactics of the enemy. If values prevail, destructive efforts will fail.

America has been through many trials and conflicts both internal and external. Our hope is to prevail against the forces attacking our sovreignity.
