Taking time to remember

Thoughts Of Years Gone By

I sat back and I thought, so very long ago
in the remembrance of my childhood
and how I loved it so.

We were not rich, or had a whole lot
but again wealth is not measured
by what you have got.

For when I think back, to those precious times
a smile comes on my face
as images flood my mind

And to relive each thought, that I so adore
is like going to an attic room 
and finding so much more.

So take a small break, and try hard not to cry
For many special wonderful memories
can bring a tear to your eye.

This is just a bit unusual for me in my writing style in reference to only using 3 lines for each stanza instead of the usual 4.
