A faith that holds me still.

Faith Within

by Sally Law

~***~

Faith lives inside,

like the substance within—

luscious fruits that fill a pie,

or sails that bow and catch the wind.

As a rudder guides the ship

by the Captain’s firm command,

faith is a lighthouse for darkened eyes

and clear sight for every man.

Faith’s a cup for the weary

in need of love’s great grace—

the best encouragement there is

in the final lap of the race.

Faith says, “Never will He let you go,

though the chill of death draws near.”

His grip will surely hold me,

the one He holds so dear.

“Never will I leave you, or forsake you,”

I do believe I heard Him say;

and, I have this faith within,

resident, until my dying day.

Jesus promised He would never leave us, nor forsake us. I believe this with all my heart.
