Growing strong
Posey
by Heather Knight
I admired Posey. Despite her hostile environment and loneliness, she managed to thrive. She never gave up.
Many others would have become dejected or resentful after suffering such neglect, but not her.
I saw her every day on my way to work and she always seemed cheerful.
'Look,' I told my son one day. 'Can you see that beautiful flower on the curb?'
'Wow. Just wow!'
He stared at the yellow beauty, mesmerized. A splash of colour in the asphalt.
