Love Always

I won't forget you,
The smile on your face,
Your loving brown eyes,
And warm embrace.

The sweetest of voices,
With encouraging words,
Supporting me always,
With all that you heard.

My best friend and confidant,
I could tell you anything,
And how we'd laugh together,
And dance to songs we'd sing!

Life wasn't easy for you,
But you always made it fun,
Hiding away your pain and cares,
Making sure your work got done.

In a world that's been so cruel,
You've been my shining light,
It's how I've made it through,
All my days and all my nights.

An example of true beauty,
Both inside and out,
And how you'd pray to God,
He is with you, there's no doubt!

I love you more than words can say,
I hope you know that's true,
Though many years, you've passed away,
But my love's still fresh and new!

I will always love you . . .

Mother's Day Poetry Contest contest entry

This is a love letter to my mother Mary on Mother's Day. The longer I live, the more I realize the greatest gift I've been given. It's not found in possessions, nor money or any material thing but rather in an undying love that no one can take from me. My greatest treasure aside from Jesus of course, is waiting for me in heaven and I am so looking forward to when I can reunite with her. So many people have not had a loving mother so I do not take this for granted. My advice is to appreciate the one you have while she is here because they won't be here forever. Happy Mother's Day to all!
