Penny's School Has A Carnival

by Boogienights

Penny Penelope Applebee
was busy in the kitchen, helping mom bake cookies.
The very best applesauce cookies they'd bake,
three dozen is what they were signed up to make.
To sell at their school open house and bake sale.
They'd sell fast, Penny thought, 'cause their taste told the tale.
With games, a dunk tank and races to run,
Penny knew that this day would be lots of fun.
They would also sell popcorn, hotdogs, lemonade,
and in late afternoon, they would have a parade.

The bake sale seemed quite successful indeed,
allowing the school to buy all it would need.
The applesauce cookies sold out right away!
Penny's mom was so proud of their efforts that day.
The chocolate cupcakes were next in line,
Penny and mom ate some and thought they were fine.

Penny's dad came by later when his fishing was done.
He ran some races with Penny and had lots of fun.
They even won prizes, a heart-shaped pillow plush,
that they gave to mom, and a silver comb and brush.
Penny even dunked the principle, with a loud splashing sound.
The ball hit the mark, and Mr. Archie went down!

Then after some popcorn, a hotdog, and drink,
Penny's parents said, "Its time to go, don't you think?"
So the family walked home all content and happy,
to their little warm house by the big blue sea.
