This is about a wizard from 'Down Under', therefore some readers may be unfamiliar with a couple of words.
"slushie": You may never have had a slushie at KFC, but it is a common word here for any type of frozen ice drink.
"shonky": This word is an Aussie/Kiwi informal word meaning unreliable or shoddy, with undertones of deception. It is a combination word from shoddy and wonky. As an example, it is sometimes used when unsafe or dubious building practices have been revealed, as in 'shonky workmanship'.
