Personally, I have found that 'circumstances' that occur, either unexpectedly or
inevitably, are subtle and sometimes timely clues, that perhaps we focus too
much attention on some lesser issues in our lives, and not enough on the ones more pressing, and most likely to be set aside, until some 'circumstance
brings it to forefront for decision or dismissing as misguided illusions.

'a fact or condition connected with or relevant to and event or action"

'an event or fact that causes or helps something to happen, sometimes
undesirably or ill fated'/ or occasionally a rare and unprecedented good
luck or fortune'
