I Am Too Short

by LisaMay

Mirror, mirror, on the wall,
I can’t see me – I’m not tall.
I will climb on this little chair,
I am too short. It isn’t fair!

Aah… now I see me, I’m up real high.
I wonder if I jumped – would I fly?
Back to the mirror: Oh look, oh dear,
my face is grubby from ear to ear.

Leftover food’s there from my lunch;
if I don’t wash I have a hunch
that Mum will scrub me at the double.
I’ll do it now, save her the trouble.

My hair is a mess, I also see
my pigtail is loose, untidily.
It’s hard to get it back in its bow...
Oh no… I fell off!  I’ll have to go.
