Just a thought

Leaden Cloud

by Heather Knight

At first it was just one drop.

It was fat and wet as can be and it fell on top of his nose.

The second and third came in quick succession.

Plop!

Plop...

His fringe got soaked.

He looked up and saw a grey cloud just on top of him.

Then, the drops became a torrent. Then a deluge.

He was drenched from head to toe.

He looked around and saw people going about their daily business.

They were dry.

They looked happy.

And he realized he had created his own storm.

The flood was just a symbol of his sadness.

And the sadness was drowning him.

He scratched his head and thought.

His brain hurt.

But he had an idea...

He looked skywards and blew with all his might.

The cloud floated away.

And the sun shone on him.

My good friend Roy Owen said this reminded him of Mark 11, 23-25
Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself into the sea, and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.
