Under Lock and Key

a frightened child who's standing fast
amidst the remnants of my past
which path to choose I cannot see
old memories won't set me free

despite the changes others see
inside I'm still the same old me
imprisoned under lock and key
old memories won't set me free

perhaps in time the shroud will fall
as sun breaks through the cloudy pall
'til then I'm trapped by life’s decree
old memories won't set me free
