The library is a place of Readom for all!

Save our library!

by Randa Dayle

Dear Council Members
of our beloved city,
I must speak my mind,
and it’s not very pretty.

Our towns noble citizens,
have me bombarded
with fears that the library
will be discarded.

The thought of this action
has brought me to tears;
this building has been here
for hundreds of years.

Our founding forefathers
set up the mil-
 and then asked the people
to make this their will.

The library you know
has many purposes;
But, it seems that your goal
is to only usurp us.

This is the place for Storytimes;
Book Clubs; and Classes.
We are more than just books,
we are here for the masses.

Here’s where we'll make for you
copies and faxes,
We have people come in
to do their own taxes!

I love the library!
Do not destroy it!
The time is right now
for you all to commit!

Now that I have
pleaded this case,
Remember, I'll vote,
in the next race.
