Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted
thirty-six days of heat and rain.

Heatwave

by Aussie

Having a heatwave, a tropical heatwave
Temperatures rising
That's not surprising
Hole in the ozone
Weather is no-go zone

All over Oz we suffer drought
All over Oz no timeout
Flooding rains, out west in doubt
Out west cattle dead from drought

Cattlemen crying, city folk sighing
Weather has changed, panic buying
Bottled water flies off the shelf; still trying
Never have I seen such panic and lying

Asians taking our baby food in bulk
Send overseas to feed their hungry ilk
Lucky country they call us, soft touch silk
Cosmopolitan now, so many folks

Can't tell no more aussie jokes
Can't learn so many tongues to speak
Lucky country "she be beat"

Australia, land of plenty? We used to have great herds of cattle and now the waters have washed them away. One-third of the industry is gone. We are inundated with fleeing refugees on leaky boats. Asians are making loads of money sending out baby-formula overseas. Limits mean nothing to them. On top of this we are in the thirty-sixth day of over 100F and we are cranky and exhausted from the heat. What next?
