Penny Learns To Fish

by Boogienights

Penny Penelope Applebee
was walking with her father down to the sea.
Dad was a fisherman, sold his catch everyday,
to the stores and the restaurants down on MarketPlace Way.
Penny was going to be his first mate
and learn how to fish, she just couldn't wait!
They packed up a lunch and a thermos of tea,
and soon sailed away on the bright blue sea.

Penny Penelope Applebee
was doing quite well as first mate on the sea.
Her dad taught about nets and how to tie knots,
and made sure to show her the best fishing spots.
Dad told her the places the dolphins would play,
were the very best spots to fish on that day.

They caught lots of fish,
tuna, haddock, chinook.
It was very hard work,
dad said that's what it took.
Penny knew then how hard her dad worked everyday,
to catch and sell fish down on MarketPlace Way.

On their boat, when the coolers were all filled with fish,
they ate hot dogs and beans, Penny's favorite dish.
Than they headed to shore and unloaded the fish,
that they'd bring a good price was Penny's dad's wish.

Penny Penelope Applebee
helped her dad sell all the fish from the sea.
At the store they bought all of the things on moms list,
dad also got Penny a red licorice twist.
When they finally got home, Penny's mom was quite pleased.
They had brought home butter, milk, bread and cheese.
For dinner mom made their favorite hotdish,
with noodles and cheese and fresh caught tuna fish.
Penny was glad her dad taught her to fish,
to be the best fisherman was her greatest wish.
