A kyrielle for fun

My muse and me

by Chrissy710

Today a Kyrielle I shall write
Each line, eight syllables must be.
Quatrains make stanza's, with refrain
The rhyming scheme is up to me.

Now, here's where I may call upon
My muse; I can depend on she,
To help me out, create some words
The rhyming scheme is up to me.

I know my muse won't let me down
Come up with lines of poetry,
I'll write them down while she dictates
The rhyming scheme is up to me.

I think I can do one more verse
Before my muse begins to flee,
I'll hurry up before she goes
The rhyming scheme is up to me.

She's gone and now I'm on my own
This line, I write, so you can see
That sometimes even I can write
The rhyming scheme is up to me.

Write a Kyrielle writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
A kyrielle is made of quatrains (four lines) that rhyme (any rhyme scheme can be used). Each stanza (quatrain) has a line that repeats from the previous stanza. That line is usually the last line in the stanza, but it does not have to be. Each line is made up of eight syllables. There is no limit to the number of stanzas. A Kyrielle is usually made up of three or more stanzas. For this prompt, a minimum of three stanzas is required.
