Uncomfortably Numb

I' m glad I' m not numb
That my mind is not overcome
And feelings inside me still hum

I'm glad I'm not numb
My heart has found the sum
Of one and one can be one

I'm glad I'm not numb
That for toe to thumb
All muscles thrum

I'm glad I'm not numb
That I've the strength to come
Around when I've been dumb

Enough to drink too much rum
AI could become numb
And realize-- numb is dumb

For if you allow yourself to be numb
The music of life can't be strummed.
