Unexpected encounter
New Friend
by Heather Knight
I was coming back from school yesterday, when I heard someone sobbing behind some fir trees.
'Who's there?' I asked.
The crying got louder, but there was no answer.
I walked towards the trees and saw a pink elephant lying down.
'Are you okay? Why are you crying? Maybe I can help...' I said.
'I think I have fallen into a trap.'
It was difficult, but after a while, I managed to free her leg. Then I bandaged it with my scarf.
Now she follows me everywhere like a faithful dog. You should see the way people stare at us.
