My Gosh, I'm Lost!

by dovemarie

I tiptoed down my street
Couldn't find an address
My eyesight was so bad
I got turned around, all mixed up
Can't drive, don't know my way around
Lose my bearings even with familiar landmarks
Which way shall I go?
Left or right?
Down this one-way street?
Fear it will be a dead end
I stand, undecided
Then I take a detour
And what do you think?
I find that again I am lost!

Phobias writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a 10-15 line free verse poem about a phobia you may have. We all have something that very much frightens us. No rhyming patterns.

I do not drive, I had bad eyesight for years, couldn't seem to figure out which way to go, was always losing my bearings. Fortunately, now I can see well because of an operation on my eyes. I still don't drive, but I can find my way around much better now, and even give other people directions. Thanks again, cleo85, for artwork!
