She sat alone while empty thoughts played. That day, imagination couldn't move her from her trusted favorite swing... a place she could always count on. 

Her solitude was broken when her mother appeared from behind. Crouching down to speak, she whispered her conversation, or rather statement. It was sudden and so unexpected. 

“If I leave your father, say you want to live with me. Okay?”  

The young girl, not even eight years old, gave an obedient nod.  Her mother got up and walked away, leaving the girl alone again... but, this time, confusion plonked down abruptly and stayed with her.
