Old and ragged body parts

Just a Crazy Dream

by Mimi Linny

All my body parts do ache
They're wrinkled, weak and sag
Instead of youthful-like, I feel
I'm just a sad old hag
If only I could trade them in
Replace parts gone askew
I'd feel like a refurbished wreck
An antique turned a-new!

"What's happening?," I ask myself
I feel so awfully strange
I look to find I'm different
And my body parts have changed...

My eyes without my specs can see
My hearing crisp and clean
My walking cane I've thrown away
My mem'ry's sharp and keen
I'm standing tall and straight can be
A slimming figure dressed
This aging figure, now so young
For all to be impressed!

But when I really stop to think
How happy I should be
I wonder if by changing things
Can'this' be really me
And maybe I should glad resolve
Content, remain to stay
With wrinkles, aches and worn-out parts
That greet me everyday
And keep that smile upon my face
Though crinkled in its beam
And wake in morn to find my change
Was just a crazy dream!
