What to say? I am Blessed!

When I'm Gone, They'll Carry On

by A. Willow Bends

Gathered 'round a wood fire
this past Friday night
I watched their faces glowing
dancing in the flickering light
Silly string and sparklers
to celebrate my birthday
sixty years beneath my belt
and proud I am to say
I'm surrounded by these people
a husband (He's quite new!)
two sons who've been my rocks
but learned from them, it's true
a daughter-in-law
that bonds us all
she tends to be the glue
that pulls us all together
when it's time to celebrate . . . Woo Hoo!
And last, not least, the grand-babes
Hailey, 7 and Will, 3
when I am dead and gone
they'll always be a piece of me . . . to carry on
For they know how to sing and dance
catch lightning bugs and PLAY
Yes, I'll still be here when I am gone
a part of me will long live on
within them all
I pray

I am so incredibly blessed with my family. We have been through and are going through some STUFF and we hang tight and hang in and just are there for one another and that includes my sisters and their families and my extended family, cousins, aunts, uncles. I am BLESSED.
