Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted
I closed the door on yesterday

Windows of gold

by Jean Hornby

I closed the door on yesterday
And threw away the key
Then another door opened
And set me free

As I stepped through the door
I did not look back
I relished in this freedom
Of being no longer trapped

Then appeared a path
Unlike the one before
Here there are no bends
Or dark open doors

As I walk this straight road
The sun shines all around
My brain de cluttered
From the beauty of no sound

Along the path
Are butterfly's
Wandering like me
But we are happy
Because we are free

Yesterday is now miles away
So the past is a distance blur
As I walk towards the future
Peace and happiness join me too
This path is wide enough for positives
And adventures that are new

The butterfly's suddenly leave me
To flutter amongst flowers that appear
My Destiny will also be a beautiful one
And I feel it is near

There is no turning back
Yesterday has gone
This path is my tomorrow
It is a strongly built road
Filled with no doors of sorrow

Only windows of gold
