Soulmates follow each other through time.
Sing to me the song you sang a thousand years ago.
I still remember every note and lyric even though,
a hundred lives have passed between us.
We're soulmates, this I know.
Sing to me the song you sang a thousand years ago.
Every time we meet each other,
so different and so new.
We recognize each other,
just like we always do.
Though your face I've
never seen before,
I remember every line.
I can't forget a face like yours,
so gentle and so kind.
Weren't we both together
when in deep dark caves we lived?
Wasn't there a village
where we met up on a bridge?
Didn't we hold each other
in Pompeii as ash fell down?
Our bodies both embracing
as we melded to the ground.
Weren't you just a servant girl
and I a mighty king?
Though dangerous it may have been,
I gave you everything.
And you gave me a child,
who wouldn't bear my name.
I still regret those wasted times,
I still bear all the shame.
Didn't we live together
in a cabin in the woods?
Raised up a family, grew old together,
life was more than good.
Except for a tiny daughter,
that fever took away.
I remember as we buried her,
are hearts were torn that day.
So many lives spent together
and when they came to an end,
we always found each other,
to start anew again.
The sun is setting on this life,
It's coming to an end.
You've been my partner, lover,
my soulmate and my friend.
When you are gone I'll grieve for you,
or you will grieve for me
if death comes by to claim me first.
I guess we'll have to see.
Still both of us understand,
that when this life is through,
It won't be long until you're with me
and I am back with you.
A subtle glance, a random touch,
will happen one fine day
and then two soulmates pulled together,
will soon be on their way.
Sing to me the song you sang a thousand years ago.
I still remember every note and lyric even though,
a hundred lives have passed between us.
We're soulmates, this I know.
Sing to me the song you sang a thousand years ago.
