What if?

Question Contest Winner
What if I stopped my obsessive compulsions today?
I would start by letting my hair go to gray.
I'd quit packing lunches, not put dishes away.
Laundry would pile so high it would sway.

What if I stop with the pet care today?
Open the door and turn them away,
throw out the cat food and litter box too.
Surely my cats would survive as cats do.

What if I stop wearing makeup this day?
Just go out in public the natural way,
with rings like raccoons below each brown eye.
Probably no one would notice or even ask why.

What if I stopped stacking books by the height?
I doubt I would really lose sleep over night.
Clothes need not be hung as displayed in a store.
No one will check, of that I am sure.

What if I said, "To hell with it all?"
Listen to only spontaneity's call.
Without a doubt, I'd probably flip out
and life as I know it would crumble and fall!

Writing Prompt
Write a poem in which every stanza either begins with a question or ends with a question.

Contest Winner

It sounds great to NOT do these little daily things, but in my mind and heart, I am pretty sure I am not going to change now! Too late in the life game for that!
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
