My Front yard

by mermaids

pairs of young doves, fly up into the trees
buttercups, daisies arise through leaves
a Phoebe bird sings with a voice of praise
rabbits dash about, then pause to graze

I watch with a feeling of pure delight
my grass sprouting up, is quite a sight
a robin has her nest in a bush of pink
the sun will set, the moon gives a wink

my front yard is full of life
scurry, sing, feed, no strife
blue butterflies bounce in air
I take it all in, then enter my lair
