The Stream of Dreams

by poetwatch

We have, in misty dreams, all met before
Like lovers, we all seek to share the night
And find that tears still stab the heart once more
When kisses come in streams of shady light.

As life becomes a stream of people's dreams,
I feel your lips caress my soul, my heart.
I search for you within these hazy streams
And hear your voice say, "You shall not depart."

But wan'dring in a world that I once knew
Where magic roams like lovely ladies' bliss
I find that time damaged my battered shoe
And smile, for shortly we will share a kiss.

The sands of time have stopped... the dream has fled.
The sun, in morning, warms my lonely bed.

Write a Shakespearean Sonnet contest entry

I don't know how to write a sonnet. I think I got the hang of it but not sure. I usually post after I write. I took a few days to write this. I hope it will at least make you smile. These are just dreams that we all have. I hope Shake's doesn't turn in his grave.
