God Bless That Damn Staple

God Bless That Damn Staple

Just a dash for the cash on a hard morning run
Had to start on a part where the circle ain't done
It's flattened and patterned and overgrown with grass
I looked t'ward a billboard and fell flat on me arse
In my ear I now hear a plea that's near papal
Understand my command: 'God bless that damn staple.'

The billboard promised salvation my fat would soon go
I could eat what I liked the tummy staple said so
There's no need for exercise, and dieting's too hard
Lap band's part of the circle in this weight loss facade
Was stationed in Canada, the land of the maple
In a dash I was flattened, 'God bless that damn staple.'
.
Life goes in a circle that's not hard to conceive
Recall the billboard: 'better to give than receive.'
That's a message I love, here's another I know
A staple part in life is a flattened ego
Time passes so quickly it's all gone in a flash
God bless that damn staple, bloody, bum, poo and dash

Seven words had to feature in this poem, so I included them in each verse: Billboard, circle, dash, flattened, hard, part and staple. When choosing a category I selected humor as stupidity wasn't listed.
