Duty and Honor

by dragonpoet

This is for the men and women who brave
The danger of fighting in war,
Who march in columns and sail in ships
To serve our nation and to stave

Of those who battle us and who crave
To lessen our strength and abhor
Freedoms we hold; hope to end our grips
On rights our forefathers gave

Us. They fly and float against the knaves
Who don't see loyalty is the core
Of all our troops who have in their grips
Beliefs we know all want to save.

We honor those now buried in graves
those retired, those who return for more.
We must always have thanks on our lips
For those who serve so our flag waves.

Recognized

I thanks all those who have served and are now serving in all
the branches of our armed forces.
