An Acrostic Poem

by Margaret Snowdon

Remembering, a green valley to my dreaming eye
Ever-flowing water like a mirror turned to the sky
Fitful winds teasing and frolicking up the stream,
Lithe ferns bending and then left to dream
Evergreens close by me as once life grew full
Cowslips nodding as a ripple ran o’er the pool
Tall trees of the forest, with cascades near my feet
I lay warm in the joy of childhood - marvels so sweet
On banks where shy violets with grass intertwined
Nodding buttercups and daisies like summer shine
Space around me, above me, in a time that was mine
